The Meaning Behind Our Name

The word Sankofacomes from the Akan language of Ghana and is a combination of SAN (return), KO (go), and FA (look, seek, and take). It translates to: “It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.”

This principle guides our mission: by looking back to understand our roots, we shape a future grounded in wisdom, purpose, and action.
